A jewel lost.

I once had a jewel so fair and bright
This jewel meant so much to me.
Although nobody thought much of it,
So dear was it to me
That it followed me everywhere i went

All my fears and hopes, my jewel knew about
My insecurities and sucesses it shared with me
There was something about this jewel
Which made us inseperable.

It never judged nor mocked me
It cuddled me to sleep on lonely nights
My jewel shined bright when i was happy
It dulled when i was distressed

Nothing could compare to my lovely jewel
It always managed to stay bright all day
With my jewel, i felt safe and loved
Truly, it was a jewel indeed

Then came a spray of dust which clouded my jewel
Tried i did, but my jewel refused to shine again
Next came a tide
That eventually swept my beloved jewel away

I searched high and low
Looked deep and wide
Jumped at any shiny object
Alas! My jewel was gone
To where; i knew not
That jewel was my mum
